I love books that teach students random fun facts and this book does that for sure. It helps students learn the concept on really large numbers through something as tiny as a dot. I would have loved to see the book illustrated with pointillism however, instead of just picture behind dots. I did see how student would appreciate it and could using it for teaching the concept of numbers. ( ) Upon picking this book, I had no idea there would really be a million dots! This is a fun book, I really enjoyed it. This book has a million dots, and a ton of number facts. This book states fun facts throughout, such as "364,800 cans of soup would fill more than 950 grocery carts." I think students will really enjoys reading these silly facts. I also think students will benefit from the visual of what a million dots look like! This is a fun math book that I think all children will enjoy. A good companion to [b:How Much Is a Million? 20th Anniversary Edition|902355|How Much Is a Million? 20th Anniversary Edition (Reading Rainbow Book)|David M. This would also appeal to fans of [b:Guinness World Records 2008|1721073|Guinness World Records 2008 (Guinness World Records)|Guinness Books|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1187390539s/1721073.jpg|1718450] (any year of course :) & any trivia/ fact collection. What does a million of something look like? This is the question author Andrew Clements 'A Million Dots' brings up for children to read and see the answers to. Mike Reed creates drawings worthy of Clements idea to be put into perspective. With each page having a drawing based on one or two of Clements' real world scientific and mathematical facts every drawing is done so on the same sized grid made up of dots. Each fact has a number answer; from the number of steps it takes to get to the top of the Empire State Building to how many miles the earth is from the moon. Each number from the facts on the pages add up to equal a million dots! Sense ressenyes | afegeix-hi una ressenya
