Detailed Review:
01. Standing up in the milky way.
Metaphor of calendar as the age of the universe. This is really well done, helped by the fact that, according to current estimates the observable universe is around 12 billion years old. Perhaps they should have skipped Giordano Bruno, though. His story is a bit complicated for the animation treatment.
02. Some of the things that molecules do.
About evolution. Like Darwin, starts with artificial selection (of dog breeds), and goes on to natural selection. Nice CGI of DNA in action. An animated story about the evolution of polar bears. I do not know how speculative it is. A few nice shots of Kew Gardens and some more fun CGI of "the tree of life". The "Halls of Extinction" must have been fun for the CGI types, too.
03.
About Newton, Halley, and Hooke. Gives a rundown of Hooke's contributions and even more time to Halley's. The general topic is gravity, calculus, and comet prediction.
04.
About light. A big shout out to Newton, but also to Fraunhofer.
05. A Sky Full of Ghosts
More astronomy + cosmology. William and John Herschel (but Caroline is missing).
