A pleasant 1-sitter triptych on Cuba, colonialism, desire, history, etc. The sentences are on point, productively blurring the lines between story and history. The stories are drawn back from the concrete detail making of contemporary realism, into a kind of historical/mythical remove, which suits the ironic romantic lens through which the characters grasp at Cuba in its iterations. Whatever that means, it's like 80 pages just read the book. ( ) The Strange Case of Rachel K was okay, at only 80 pages it was a fast read for sure. Ms. Kushner can pack a lot into a small amount of words but it was like a roller coaster that was going one way (bumping all the way) and then suddenly went whosh - and your head and stomach went in two different directions and the ride is done. You're left feeling unsure if that was good or bad thing. Sense ressenyes | afegeix-hi una ressenya
