S'està carregant… Babymouse, Queen of the World! (2005)de Jennifer Holm, Matthew Holm
![]() No hi ha cap discussió a Converses sobre aquesta obra. This book is a quick read that would be great for advanced primary-aged readers or early intermediate-age readers. This story is about a little mouse who is trying her very best to get invited to a popular girl's sleepover but once she is there she realizes that her friend Wilson is a better friend to her and leaves to go hang out with him. This book is really engaging so it would be a great resource for students who may not enjoy reading as much and it is a great resource to show the importance of being kind to others. ( ![]() As a child I was always reluctant to read, but I remember absolutley loving the Babymouse series and could not get enough of it. My mom was constantly buying me more and more of them to read. "Babymouse: Queen of the World", is about a mouse who just wants to fit in with the cool kids, but later learns its not as fun as she thought. She has a huge, and imaginative, personality that really interests readers into finding out more. I think this is a great book to have in a classroom library, for the graphic novel style is a good way for younger readers to transition from picture books to chapterbooks. Babymouse wants to become Queen of the World and to get invited to Felicia Furrypaw's Slumber Party. do her dreams come true? Babymouse wants to be popular, like Felicia Furrypaws, but her clothes, her interests, and even her whiskers are all wrong. Babymouse ditches plans with her best friend, Wilson the Weasel, when she gets an invitation to Felicia's party, but once there, realizes it's not all it's cracked up to be and goes back to Wilson's to watch a movie. Art is in black, white, and pink. Babymouse wants to be queen of the world, but the world doesn’t seem to agree. Where’s the glamour, excitement, and action in her life that she’s read about in her favorite storybooks? She has curly whiskers which she dislikes, she has an overdue library book, and she misses the school bus. Her life is full of frustrations, especially at school. Her locker is stuck shut, and except for Wilson the Weasel, she has few friends. Felicia Furry Paws, the most popular girl in school, ignores her. Babymouse so wants an invitation to Felicia’s upcoming slumber party that she does a desperate deal to get one, and then is bored when she gets there. Nobody wants to play games or is interested in what she has to say. What is she going to do? Baby Mouse’s saving characteristic is her active imagination. In her frequent daydreams the light pink shading of the art becomes bold and prominent. With this book Brother and Sister Holm proudly introduce a spirited new character to children’s comics.
