Fantasy. Fiction. Romance. HTML:NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER ? In Karen Marie Moning??s latest installment of the epic Fever series, Mac, Barrons, Ryodan, and Jada are back??and the stakes have never been higher or the chemistry hotter. Hurtling us into a realm of labyrinthine intrigue and consummate seduction, Feverborn is a riveting tale of ancient evil, lust, betrayal, forgiveness, and the redemptive power of love.
When the immortal Fae destroyed the ancient wall dividing the worlds of Man and Faery, the very fabric of the universe was damaged, and now Earth is vanishing bit by bit. Only the long-lost Song of Making??a haunting, dangerous melody that is the source of life itself??can save the planet.
But those who seek the mythic song must contend with old wounds and new enemies, passions that burn hot and hunger for vengeance that runs deep. The challenges are many: the Keltar at war with nine immortals who??ve secretly ruled Dublin for eons, Mac and Jada hunted by the masses, the Seelie queen nowhere to be found, and the most powerful Unseelie prince in all creation determined to rule both Fae and Man. Now the task of solving the ancient riddle of the Song of Making falls to a band of deadly warriors divided among??and within??themselves.
Once a normal city possessing a touch of ancient magic, Dublin is now a treacherously magical city with only a touch of normal. And on those war-torn streets, Mac will come face-to-face with her most savage enemy yet: herself.

??Moning??s world-building is extensive and inspired, and she never fails to keep the action fast and the stakes high. . . . The heroes?? shared danger, victory, loss and turmoil translate into emotional intensity and sexual tension.???The New York Times Book Review
??Karen Marie Moning is back, burning up the pages with scorching tension, gasp-out-loud surprises, unshakable danger and unexpected feels. Feverborn is simply impossible to put down. . . . I??m not sure how Moning is able to do it after eight books, but each novel proves more exciting than its predecessor as she continues to raise the stakes in this ongoing, exhilarating saga. Feverborn is a fight between ancient magic and renewed determination, a duel between old wounds and deep-seated love. Once again, you won??t be able to put this book down.???USA Today
??Feverborn is at once the most gratifying and infuriating (in the best way possible) volume in the series yet. Moning??s proclivity for passion, emotion and shocking twists is showcased in breathtaking clarity. . . . I can damn near guarantee that fans of the series will be panting, both with heat, and a frenzied need to know what happens next.???PopWrapped

Feverborn
By Karen Marie Moning
Fever #8

Where do I begin? This book was packed with excitement! I absolutely loved it. There was just so much going on that I am having trouble organizing it in my head to try to summarize it. I am afraid I might spoil it if I don’t do it right so I think I will just make it short.

I didn’t want the book to end. Hurry up, Karen Marie Moning and get the next one out!

Disappointed with this book, I feel like not a lot has happened, like this was just a filler book. I'm not even sure if I want to continue the series for the last 2 books (at least I see 2 more in the series list upcoming).. It's sad cause I loved the first 4 books of this series, excited to see what would happen next and now I don't really feel invested in anyone now. I like Jada but I feel like this has too much Mac in it to be about Jada/Dani like I thought this part of the series was supposed to be. ( )

I would like answers to everything has been started. Why after 8 books, we have so many questions left unanswered?
The book is very enjoyable, but it's still frustrating not getting to understand so many mechanisms of this world. ( )

I don't know how to rate this. It sucked and was confusing most of the way through, then the last couple of chapters were awesome and then it cliffhangered. It was too long, too confusing but the last little bit got me. Sigh. Guess this means I have to read the next one.

I'm torn.....did I like the book or didn't I? I can't decided how I feel about it.

Mac and Barrons figure in this book more than the last but that's not necessarily a good thing. Mac, I loved Mac because she was a great cohort to Mega. Fearless, driven, and with Barrons at her side there wasn't anything she couldn't do. Now because she hears the book inside her she questions every little thing. In her desperation she turns to eating Unseelie flesh again so now she's basically a functioning junkie. Really, this is what our badass has been reduced to?

Dani "Mega" was annoying in the fact that her speech could be well juvenile....and it was kind of weird in the last book to have those older men (one an immortal being of some sort) practically drooling over a 14 yr. old. I wanted just a little tweak on that so it didn't seem so....sketchy....well how does the saying go, be careful of what you wish for. Now we have Jada who is closed off, driven and lost all of the sparkle that Dani had. Ryodan is still ready to pop something over her but at least now it's not as creepy as it was in the last book. Dancer too did some growing up. Christian....I love him. Beginning to love him more than Barrons and that's saying something. So back to Dani/Jada... she's was gone by Earth time over a month but in the other realms she's actually lost 5 1/2 years. She brought back a companion that she keeps hidden and in the end we are left to wonder if Shazam even exists? Oh and her ultra badass persona is starting to crumble.

And what the heck is up with Alina coming back to life...seriously? Was KMM not feeling very inspired when she added that little tidbit to the plot? Other than to make a paranoid Mac even that more bugged out what purpose does she serve, how is her appearance going to help them solve what to do about the growing black holes?

See this is where I'm conflicted, the story really didn't go anywhere. Sure we got Dani/Jada but with her schemes and all did we make any progress. Oh wait, Ryodan finally got his hands on her to tattoo her...whoopie. Christian now knows about his uncle being transformed...and??? The last scene with Jada and Mac facing being "fixed" by the whatever that thing is...seriously? Mac looks into the book, Jada pleads with her not to, they will find another way. (after making Mac promise that if she doesn't survive Mac will go find Shazam in the Hall of Mirrors and rescue him) Mac risks herself to save Dani and last thing we know is Mac hears the books voice and tells Dani to run. Ooh, who didn't see that coming a mile away.

Maybe just burned out on the series. Take a few steps back and possibly revisit this book in a couple of months. All I know is right now I'm at the point I don't care if the world gets swallowed by the black holes. If Dani and Ryodan hook up. Will Mac ever reclaim her bad-ass status and live eternally with Barrons? The others of the Nine, slowly losing my curiosity about them the way this is dragging on.

Enough of this...going to go take a walk, clear my head and see what other worlds I'll dive into. Hopefully I'll find a way to think on this time with a fond memory....or not, only time will tell. Now I'm starting to sound like the book. I'm out of here. ( )
