Quando il giovane – e bellissimo – Ángel Santiago esce di galera, dove è stato brutalmente seviziato, ignora che su di lui pendono due condanne: una a morte, l’altra a vivere intensamente. Della galera gli è rimasto il ricordo di un paio di anni orribili, ma anche di un piano per mettere a segno «la rapina del secolo». E chi se non l’attempato Vergara Grey – il maestro dello scasso – può divenire il suo compagno d’avventure? Ma la vita dei due protagonisti andrà a incrociarsi con quella della giovane Vittoria, bella, sensibile e talentuosa ballerina classica dal tragico e misterioso passato. Un romanzo d’avventura, d’amore e di amicizia, divertente e ricco di colpi di scena, sullo sfondo di una Santiago del Cile non ancora completamente liberatasi dallo spettro della dittatura.
