Review: I was constantly in tears during this book, it was both happy and sad tears. A ho-hum student gets intrigued by the idea of having a pen pal in Zimbabwe. They keep up a correspondence.
The first half of the book had my interest. In the latter part it began to drag because I expected success. Then the epilogue left me wondering what happened in between.
Another reviewer (Jenny (Reading Envy)) pointed out that there are some concerns about it being a totally true story. One that struck me as I read was: “Why would a penpal program exist for people who can't afford stamps or paper? …”
It was a delightful read. (
