This was a very cute book about apples. The story itself does not provide much information on apples; it just goes to show how apples are grown in many different places. I think the illustrations are very nice; they have a calming feel to them. The end of the book however does provide factual information on apples. I think that this would be a good book to read for young children to teach them a little about apples and how they grow. ( )

Apples grow on trees, but you have to be patient before you can eat them. There are may types of apples. You can also make different things to eat out of apples, like cider, pie, applesauce, or just eat them plain.

This book is about the process of apples growing. The phrase "there are apples here" is repeated throughout the story. When it's snowing out, "there are apples here." When the bushes bloom flowers, "there are apples here." When the tree is full of leaves, "there are apples here, waiting for sun and rain to grow." Finally, "there are apples here, waiting to be picked." Apples are used for cider, pie and applesauce. Apples to eat and apples to share are everywhere. There is a passage at the end of the book that describes the process of apples growing and all the terms. I enjoyed the simplicity of this book. It takes a year for apples to grow. I recommend this book to grades K-3. This story can also be tied into a Science lesson about the growth of trees. ( )

throughout the year, there are apples at some stage or another. Buds in the winter, to flowers in the spring, to small unripe baby apples in the winter, ready in the Fall. Beautifully illustrated story ( )
