Really enjoyed how Cynthia Eden wrapped this series up, while still leaving the door open a crack for more stories. I always wondered who she'd pair with the big boss and I don't think she could've chosen a better heroine. There were a few surprises and of course a happily ever after. Can't recommend this series enough. One of my favs. ( )

This is one of my favorite series and I was quite looking forward to this installment seeing as Eric has always a mysterious and intriguing character. To finally learn the truth about him was a relief and put some things into perspective. It was also great to see Eric and Ella come together like that, to find peace and comfort in each other. It was a little odd to discover what a blabbermouth Connor was though.

I was however not impressed with the book as a whole. Even though I really wanted to know what Eric story was all about, I was a little bit disappointed at the execution of the story. There was so much to discover but I felt that this book was a tad overwritten, like the draft version of a novel before the editor gives their input. Some of the scenes felt surplus and unnecessary, like they could have been incorporated better into the story. The entry of a second nemesis was abrupt, there was no build up for him in the storyline, as if the idea was thrown in there at the last minute in order to expand the story for a higher word limit. In my opinion justice was not done in the finalizing of this creative piece.

I am an avid reader of Cynthia Eden's work and am quite familiar with her style. I mean no disrespect to her creativity or her editor but somehow I feel that this particular book fell short of her regular standard.

Deal With The Devil is your typical Paranormal Romance with a few twists. We see an new race of beings called the Fey, but not the Fey we see in typical romance novels. Ella is a strong, fierce individual who travels the world for life times searching for her mate. Her shame and pain are hidden behind a veil of strength and confidence. Ella wants nothing more than to love and be loved.

Eric is a man with his own secrets deeply buried beneath iron clad control. He is the director of the PARA Unit, an organization that he has given his life to in order to police creatures that ordinaries cannot fathom. The encounter with a mysterious Ella begins to crack his carefully developed facade. It is only a matter of time before long buried secrets are exposed to the light and miseries are revisited.

Deal With The Devil is the fourth novel of the Purgatory series, yet reads like a stand alone novel. The reader misses the enriched history of each character when they plunge into the story so late, but they can still appreciate the struggles of Ella and Eric.

This is novel is your traditional paranormal romance at it’s heart – completely immersed in the lore and tales of vampires and werewolves. A person would loves romance novels, things that go bump in the night, action and adventure will enjoy Deal With The Devil. ( )

Eric Pate has always been a fascinating character in each of these books and to finally read his story was amazing. To finally find out what he is exactly...awesome. Ella was an interesting woman to hook up with Eric. She was strong and knew what she wanted and needed. Although there were some rough spots in their courtship, they made each other stronger and able to overcome everything in their way. Now I just need to see some of these couples relax a little and have time to breathe before the next badass paranormal comes to town. And I gotta say, how hot is that cover?!

Contemporary, Paranormal Romance

Eric Pate is the director of the PARA Unit and as such is used to making his own rules. While everyone rushes to obey his orders and commands no one knows his secrets. He makes sure no one gets too close or at least he did until he met her.

Ella Lancaster is tired of constantly being a prisoner. She thought she escaped hell but finds she is still there. Eric keeps her contained with his agents and doesn’t consider it punishment. He sees it as a form of protection. Unfortunately for Eric he is wrong. Ella can take care of herself and doesn’t need to be protected from anyone or anything.

Eric and Ella find themselves battling a supernatural beast that they never expected when the PARA Unit is attacked. They make a deal as they are forced to join forces. Soon they are fighting together and their attraction to each other can no longer be controlled or contained. It is hot, wild and consuming. Soon the deal Ella made with her devil takes over her life.

As Eric gets in deeper and deeper with Ella his legendary control begins to fall apart. He has kept his beast chained but now it is rising to the surface. When the devil loses control though there is real hell to pay.

This is another great book in a series that pulls readers in and keep them addicted to an amazing series. Each book adds more to the series and builds the world even more. While each book can be read as a stand alone there are enough threads that are tied together and weave throughout the series that it is much better to read the series in order. As each book takes the reader deeper into this world it will have them wanting more from this world just to see where else it will take them. It is full of action and suspense that keeps the series fresh and new with each and every book.
