This one gave me nightmares and I absolutely cannot wait for a fourth! ( ![]() enjoyable Another case for partners Cormoran Strike & Robin Ellacott but this time it is personal. A woman's right leg is couriered to Robin but the accompanying note targets Cormoran. Four suspects arise from Cormoran's past. The history of the two main characters is revealed as their relationship develops. Robin's revelation to Cormoran felt too contrived and had me squirming, I felt it could have been done better. To me this was a weak spot in the book. Robin's postponed wedding is approaching as the killer becomes more desperate to destroy Cormoran through Robin. Robin is detached, focusing on catching the killer, and controlling what she is passionate about and oversteps the mark, directly contradicting Strike’s instructions, endangering herself and threatening to destroy his business. The week before the wedding and her whole world crumbles. On the wedding day itself Matthew, her fiance, betrays her trust and you are left wondering how long they will remain married. I love J. K. Rowling’s writing style, she manages to keep me captivated. I also love a longer read, it promises so much, and I was not disappointed. It is a well thought out intricate plot, with plenty of substance and solid characters. It is easy to become invested in them, wanting to know more and interested to see how their relationship develops. This is so much more than just a whodunnit, it is about a relationship between two broken people. Richtig gut. The third book about Robin Ellacott and her assistant Cormoran Strike. Or however it works. Their relationship is not well defined, but sure is that they both really like their job, are stubborn as nothing else, have absolutely no money and are awful at personal relationships. I really enjoy these books, even though some events really make me cringe. People do terrible mistakes but they always seem human. The author is really making me feel the tiredness, fear and worry explode in unwarranted outbursts. Carreer of Evil starts with the detective office being sent a severed leg. Apparently someone does not like them and Strike starts digging into the life of the worst people he's ever met which is not good for business at all. Sense ressenyes | afegeix-hi una ressenya

When a mysterious package is delivered to Robin Ellacott, she is horrified to discover that it contains a woman's severed leg. Her boss, private detective Cormoran Strike, is less surprised but no less alarmed. There are four people from his past who he thinks could be responsible, and Strike knows that any one of them is capable of sustained and unspeakable brutality. With the police focusing on one of the suspects, Strike and Robin delve into the dark and twisted worlds of the other three men. But as more horrendous acts occur, time is running out for the two of them. No s'han trobat descripcions de biblioteca. |
