( ) Author/illustrator Patrick McDonnell, creator of the lovely Me...Jane, a picture-book biography of Jane Goodall that was awarded a Caldecott Honor, here turns to the bedtime story, producing a gentle but entertaining little volume in the process. Maggie and her little rabbit, Clement, welcome Jean the elephant and Alan the bear to their sleepover party, where everyone has a wonderful time. When the animals are all tired out, and ready for a bedtime story, Maggie obliges, but also insists that everyone must share what they are grateful for... I enjoyed McDonnell's artwork here, done in pen and ink, pencil and watercolor, all on handmade paper, and found the story sweet. As the title of Thank You and Good Night would suggest, this isn't just a bedtime book, it is also a story about gratitude. Although I thought the story here was appealing in its own right, the little thank you poem at the end really made it more special. Recommended to fans of Patrick McDonnell, and to anyone looking for gentle goodnight books that also emphasize being thankful. This is a sweet book about three friends and all the things they do right before bedtime. They catch balloons and look at stars. When they are ready for bed, their friend Maggie gets them ready for bed. Before they go to sleep, they have to make sure to say what they were thankful for on that day. This would be a sweet book to read for toddlers or pre-schoolers right before bedtime or nap time. This story is about a group of three stuffed animal friends who have a sleepover. The stuffed animals jump on the bed, do yoga, and look at the starts like other children might in a sleepover. The girl decides to take the animals to bed and the girl reads them a bedtime story, kisses them goodnight, and thanks her stuffed animals. The story includes rhyming. Students will be shown the importance to gratitude and thankfulness for what they have, amongst many things we have in life that we do not think to even be thankful for. This is the story about stuffed animals who have a sleepover. All the animals have a fun time jumping on the bed, doing yoga, and dancing. Once all the animals start getting tired, a girl named Maggie reads them a story about being thankful. This is good book to read to your class and then have them write something they are thankful for. It will get them thinking and could promote discussion. Sense ressenyes | afegeix-hi una ressenya
Maggie hosts a pajama party at which Clement, Alan Alexander, and Jean play a variety of fun games, tire themselves, and drift off to sleep, but not before sharing their gratitude. No s'han trobat descripcions de biblioteca. |
