A little out of my league being a young reader's book but the format looked cute and I bought it for the hot pink cover. It was a fast read and a very neat idea that I think would have really appealed to me at 15 and lightly amused at 70. ( )

The main character is a girl named Nikki Maxwell and her school, Westchester Middle. She has a very rude person that has a locker next to hers. Her name is Mackenzie Hollister and is part of the CCP ( Cute, Cool, and Popular ) She isn’t very nice and likes to make Nikki feel bad. Nikki also has a little sister that is SUPER annoying. Her name is Brianna Maxwell. In this book she gives a bunch of dogs a spa day and makes a HUGE mess. The main problem in this book was Nikki, Brandon, Chloe and Zoey trying to keep a secret from Nikki's parents and her little sister. What Nikki's parents don't know was that several days prior, Nikki and her friend discoverd seven abandoned puppies and their mother in a cardboard box outside of a pet store in the local town. Knowing that Nikki's parents wouldn't want seven little puppies and their mother in the house they came up with a plan. The plan was to secretly care for the puppies until the pet store could take them back.Thankfully they only had to take care of the dogs for one week until the pet store could accommodate for them. In the end all the puppies were successfully adopted and Nikki even got to keep one of them.

The book was slow to start. It took four chapters for me to really get hooked on the story. In the beginning Nikki and Brandon were just talking about school,Mackenzie and what they had in common.The only thing I did like about the first part of the story was how Nikki and Mackenzie were getting along and Mackenzie was actually being nice.Well that didn't last long the only reason Mackenzie was being nice was because she had new friend at her new school and when her friends left it was back to mean Mackenzie. When Nikki stood up for Mackenzie being mean I was surprised but I was really happy when I found out the puppies were next. That's why I liked the book more towards the Middle/end of the story because it was funny and just took me to another place. ( )

Dork Diaries 9 is a book about Nikki having to hide 7 puppies and 1 mother dog from her parents. She also has to hide the dogs from everybody at school after her house. The dogs make a big mess wherever they are and wherever they go. Nikki has become so attached to the dogs so she asked her mom if she could get a dog. I liked this book because it is very funny. I also liked this book because it is very exiting. I would recommend this book to people who like humor and animals. ( )
