The story is engaging, and I liked how the characters were developed throughout the novel. The book brings up good points regarding the education system and social issues that affect minorities in this country, some of which some people are not aware of the impact they have.
Although there are some grammar issues, and some subplots would be benefited from an expansion (the characters of Travante and Ermina have interesting stories, and I think there is more to them than what we are exposed to in the book), this book has great potential.
I won a copy of this book through the First Reads giveaway, and I would like to thank Karimah for sharing this piece of Muslim fiction. ( )
