Horace and Morris get into the school choir but Dolores isn't "good enough" to sing with them. She writes the director a note and he realizes that she is a fabulous writer and insists that she write the music for the choir. ( )

This is a delightful story about how much Dolores wants to be in the chorus. She shows grit and determination to get involved in the face of a "no". The illustrations are simple but very cute. I love the colors that were used. I also like the font and size of the print. It is very easy to read.

Dolores is upset when her friends are chosen to sing in the chorus, but she finds a way to become part of the performance. ( )
