An interesting take on detoxing the body, mind and soul. Read through the book first. Now to go back and try to practice the message given for each day. Ressenya escrita per a Crítics Matiners de LibraryThing . The 30-Day Faith Detox by Laura Harris Smith based on the theme that your body is a temple of God and how you can do much more with your life if you are healthy. The first two days of the detox I could not do because of health reasons and the lack of interest in the type of ingredients. The book advised me that if I wanted a substitute opinion to contact my doctor, to me, this didn't make any sense then to read the book. I then would have to set a 30 day period to do the detox and stick to it during those days. A detox isn't what I wanted; I was hoping for a more spiritual side to renew the mind and heal the spirit. The author did provide a lot of Bible verses to encourage you through the journey, but most of them seem to be overused just to the point of this book. This book gave me no new ideas to reset your body, mind, and spirit. If you are looking for a book though which is faith based while detoxing, then this is the book for you, but what I wanted and needed it wasn't the book for me. Ressenya escrita per a Crítics Matiners de LibraryThing . I received this book as part of the Early Reviewers program. I had requested it because I've lost my faith and am looking for a way back, but this is not the book for me. The dietary detox is completely unrealistic for me. As for the spiritual side of the program, I haven't been able to follow it, probably because of my state of mind. I think it's probably a useful, informative book for the right person, but that person isn't me. Ressenya escrita per a Crítics Matiners de LibraryThing . I spent 30 days reading the book as if I was doing the detox. I have not been able to do the detox as I am on a doctor prescribed weight loss program right now. I like that the author shows the correlation between mind, body and spirit. We must heal everything in order to be whole. You can't fix one thing and expect the other areas to be ok also. I showed the book to my coach and she said that the information is good and that when I am done with my weight loss I may want to try it. She was so interested that she wrote down the title and author so she could get it when it came out. It is a good book and one that I will keep on my shelf.I received this book through LibraryThing Early Reviewers program for the purpose of review. Sense ressenyes | afegeix-hi una ressenya

Laura Harris Smith does a wonderful job of explaining why a detox is so important and how she has laid out the different sections of the book for your personal use. The recipes are very straightforward, but I will warn you--you have to have a good juicer to actually make most of them, which is not something I had planned on buying and chose not to buy.
I was also taken aback by the amount of food I had to buy in order to actually create some of the recipes--not to mention some of the ingredients were items that I wasn't used to having in my pantry (dandelion root and milk thistle?). Detoxing is apparently not something you can do on a budget. At least in my opinion after reading this book.
I did enjoy how Laura had the different types of detoxes sectioned off and included prayers for each day of the week while doing the detox. She incorporated stories from the Bible and how they handled each type of stress in life as well.
Overall, it was a good book to read about how to handle different types of stress and foods to eat to help counteract it as well as prayers to help pray in asking God for healing.
I received this book for free as part of the Early Reviewer giveaways in exchange for my honest opinion. ( )
