A holiday to remember... Widower Carlos Chavez manages La Joya del Mayan, the most romantic resort in Mexico. On good days, the romance passes unnoticed; on dark days, it only reminds him of his loss. But the honeymoon suite's latest guest, Larissa Boyd, has rocked his steadfastness. Stunningly beautiful, she seems lost. And no wonder...she's on a honeymoon for one! The chemistry is instant--and their similarities run deep. Could it be that the two loneliest hearts on the island have found love...in the most unexpected of places? No s'han trobat descripcions de biblioteca. |

I thought I'd love this book with the romantic resort in Mexico and all, but with the two unlikable leads, I didn't enjoy this one. Larissa was a total Bridezilla and she didn't appeal to me at all. The fact that she was going to marry a man she didn't love just so she could be a bride and have her day in the spotlight and feel like a princess made her come off as completely shallow and superficial. I couldn't blame her fiancé at all for dumping her and going off with another woman.
Carlos is a widower. His wife died five years ago and he's still got so many emotional hang-ups where she's concerned that he still hasn't come to terms with. He now detests romance. He doesn't believe in love. Whenever someone speaks of love or he sees a romantic gesture between a couple, he either scoffs about it or shuts himself off. He's a disbeliever in romance and love, yet he's managing the most romantic resort in Mexico. He needed to man up, face up to what was really bothering him, and move on with his life.
I considered not finishing this one but continued on hoping that my feelings would change as the book progressed, but unfortunately that didn't happen. ( )
