Trip to the Moon, by Barbara Hehner, is a non-fiction narrative that recounts the true story of the Apollo mission that first landed on the moon through the eyes of Jan, daughter of Buzz Aldrin. In addition to describing the astronauts' journey, Jan also tells the reader of her experiences on the homefront, watching her father in his heroic journey. Also, this book is full of diagrams and distances (in kilometers and miles) describing outer space and the technology used, giving the reader access to scientific data in a non-threatening way.
