This is a technical manual that uses text and pictures to teach someone how to create games in Scratch (an online programming website). It begins by encouraging game designers to make a plan for their game that includes, characters, setting, goals, mechanics, rules, difficulty and type of game. Next, the book covers how to create an account on Scratch and gives a tour of tools and vocabulary specific to Scratch. Then each chapter explains how to make a different game focusing on different elements in each (progress bar, finishing screen, explosions, extra lives, etc). ( )
