This was quite an interesting story and I definitely was thrilled to have been able to read Lianne's story as I was intrigued by her character in the previous book. The premise for our couple was quite fascinating and I did enjoy the element of a character being falsely accused of rape as I do think that is a serious issue and hardly gets addressed in our society. We really see the psychological effects that it has on the hero and how he could lose everything over being falsely accused. You really feel for the hero and his situation. I did enjoy that the heroine doesn't freak out over the truth and works on helping him get to the truth of the matter. I found the romance to be endearing at times but didn't quite work for me, I just wasn't able to connect like I wanted to and definitely had a HFN ending to it. But I can see some readers really love this series. ( ) I really enjoyed "the Fifteenth Minute" by Sarina Bowen. I am fast becoming a big fan of this author's work. Having devoured the Ivy Years series in the course of a week, I couldn't put them down. I love her writing style and the characters are real and deal with gritty real life problems. Her words speak to me and I can't wait to read more of her books. Happy Reading... enjoy! FGMAMTC Blog Review Excerpt I enjoyed my time reading this book. Both of the main characters are extremely likable. They have unique backgrounds and perspectives, which are excellent points for someone who reads as much as I do. Daniel, known by most as DJ, is the deejay for the college hockey team and a hockey player on the side. Lianne is a well known actress from a teen movie franchise. Both are going through their own personal dilemmas. Sometimes their issues throw off their timing and focus, but the attraction between them is undeniable. This story has all of the swoon appeal of first love, but it's delivered in a mature way. I appreciate that. There's drama, but it is believable and their actions and reactions are understandable. If you like sports romance, college romance, music trivia or references to Shakespeare and movies, this book is a safe bet for you. Although, it is the 5th book in The Ivy Years series, it can be read as a standalone. I actually did just that, but now that I've sampled the wares, I will definitely be reading the others. ***Copy given in exchange for an honest review*** Fangirl Moments and My Two Cents Website / Facebook / Twitter / Google / Pinterest / Goodreads / Tumblr / tsū Sense ressenyes | afegeix-hi una ressenya

Freshman Lianne Challice is known to millions of fans as Princess Vindi. But sometimes a silver screen sorceress just wants to hang up her wand, tell her manager to shove it, and become a normal college student. Too bad that's harder than it looks. She's never lived a normal life. She hasn't been to school since kindergarten. And getting close to anyone is just too risky--the last boy she kissed sold the story to a British tabloid. But she can't resist trying to get close to Daniel "DJ" Trevi, the hot, broody guy who spins tunes for hockey games in the arena. Something haunting in those dark eyes makes her need to know more. DJ's genius is for expressing the mood of the crowd with a ten second song snippet. With just a click and a fade, he can spread hope, pathos or elation among six thousand screaming fans. Too bad his college career is about to experience the same quick fade-out as one of his songs. He can't get close to Lianne, and he can't tell her why. And the fact that she seems to like him at all? Unbelievable. No s'han trobat descripcions de biblioteca. |
