Irene is still on probation and trying to keep herself and Kai, her assistant out of trouble. Her nemesis Alberich is meddling with the gates and several are malfunctioning, she has a lot to sort out, as well as to keep her friends close and possible enemies closer. There's a lot of bookish humour and I'm enjoying this series, I could barely put this one down. ( )
