With the tension surrounding this couple, it was only a matter of time before the spark became a raging inferno. Katrina was a spectacular character. Not afraid to push the boundaries, she was in a class all her own. What I liked most was that she may have been rough around the edges but she had ano innocence about her that went deep and allowed her to be easily hurt. Mason was a clueless Jeri but he had his moments where he could be sweet and charming. I received an ARC of Dirty, Sexy, Inked in exchange for an honest review. Serious and emotional topics were mixed in with an electrical firestorm to make this read a MUST HAVE! Cool series so far. ( )

I am trying to get over the burn out, but its more miss than hit lately. So I am totally digging Carly and Erika as a writing duo.

Mason is a manwhore and proud of it, but his wanton ways are Mason's method of keeping everyone at arm's length after a difficult childhood. Based on how Mason was portrayed in the last book, I was really expecting him to come off as a self-absorbed arsehole. However I was pleasantly surprised that Mason was able to behave like a mature adult, show compassion and feeling, and still knock our socks off in the bedroom.

Katrina Sands had been best friends with Mason for more than twelve years, ever since he rescued her from bullies in high school. She has been in love with him for just as long, but fear of losing Mason's friendship and her own tortured past have kept her from revealing her feelings. So Kat is a constant witness to Mason's licentious love fests and its making her a grumpy shrew. I became a fan of Kat in Saint's book... I loved her style and had a great visual of her cascading butterfly tattoo. I was a little worried that her inability to communicate was going to put me off her character, but it didn't seem to bother me too much. I had a good insight to her character and understood some of the way she was feeling, so that helped diminish the annoyance I usually feel when there is a failure to communicate.

The relationship between Mason and Kat unfolded at a nice pace for me. Because they have been best friends for so long, it negated what would have been instalove in a newly-met couple. Once Mason opened his eyes a little, the sexual tension was off the charts and romantic attachments quickly followed. Katrina still had to deal with some insecurities and communication issues, particularly when a plot conflict is thrown it that triggers Kat's past destructive behavior. While I can't say that I liked the plot conflict because of what it represented, it did serve to create an additional emotional hook for the story.

I have an inkling about Levi's leanings, but I may be way off base. I can't wait to find out.

This was such a good book. I always love a good read by Carly Phillips. She is so good at ensuring there is a brilliant story blended with some super hot scenes to really make it an addicting read that you cannot put down. Seriously, I found myself grabbing the book for a chapter or two, at night, and often reading well past when I meant, as I got so caught up in the book.

I truly like that this book has a brilliant story to it. The characters have depth and personality, and they actually have a nice romance brewing throughout. I was really drawn in by the fact that we were reading the real story behind a relationship, with lots hot scenes, rather than just a random, quick start, lots of sex and no depth to the plot. It made this book so much more.

I liked the characters a lot. They matched well and really made the story exciting. I felt like they had a certain passion that was there even when they didn't want it or need it, it just sparked between them. They both had brilliant depth and personality, which made them very real and easy to relate to. It also made it easy to feel as though you were part of their world.

The pace of the story really brought the book together. It gave you lots of moments to really connect with the story and characters, but then had lots of fast, sexy moments to really heat up the story.

Overall, this was a really goo book. If you are looking for a great story with passionate romance, this is it.
