But underneath all the fun I’m sensing some deep emotions, which hasn’t broke to the surface yet, but I can feel it’s there. Both men have a troubled past, and once they reach the point where they will be able to share their demons with each other, it will be explosive. This first installment is basically an intro to the series. Despite the hot and sexy Vegas night they shared together (which we don’t see unfortunately, but that’s to be expected since the characters themselves don’t remember it, only some flashes here and there), the MC’s don’t like each other too much, but that can be chalked up to their unexpected and unwanted nuptials. Patrick is a douche and not really likable, but as we established before, those are exactly my type of characters. Weee! ;D The writing is great, though at times I felt the events were too fabricated and convenient. There is no on-page sex, but there is tension. And I expect slow-burn in the future installments. They might get down and dirty, but the feelings will come later I think. I hope! Lol It’s a promising series, and I think the content might be more heavy than I initially expected, but it’s still mostly fun. ( ) Gabi90 | Apr 18, 2021 | ) NannyOgg13 | Mar 27, 2021 | Oh My Gosh! This book is awesome and so funny. This was a great start to a serial and I can't wait to get through all of them. Will is a prudish alcoholic who just broke up with his ex (who also happens to be the son of a mob boss). Patrick is a sarcastic, arrogant, cranky neurosurgeon. The men wake up after a one night stand turned married in Vegas evening. The complications are present, of course, and the guys can't get a divorce. They are forced to figure out how to make it all work. Will is nervous and cautious. Patrick doesn't care and says what is on his mind. This is a true case of opposites attract (although Will is denying any attraction right now...he's too stressed over his JERK ex). I am really looking forward to Will & Patrick meeting the family, working on being a believable couple, and FALLING IN LOVE! Plausibility aside, not a bad start.
Will makes my cranky. So annoying.
Patrick is my people. I'm giving him all the hugs for dealing with Will. (
