Fiona Fargo, who works tech support for the K-9 Unit, has been entrusted with some sensitive information to decode; sensitive enough that someone is willing to kill for it. After Fiona is attacked at her apartment building, K-9 officer Christopher Torrance and his canine partner Dutch are assigned to protect Fiona until the perpetrator is caught. As they spend time together, they can’t fight the feelings they have for each other.
This was a very enjoyable short story/prequel to the Love Inspired Suspense Capitol K-9 Unit continuity series. Both Fiona and Chris were great characters with good chemistry between them. I liked that Fiona was a smart heroine who didn’t panic in the face of danger, but used her brains instead. Chris was a strong, protective hero, and I loved his brave canine partner Dutch. Fast-paced, very entertaining read. ( )
