Tom and his friend find life a bit too exciting when they are caught up in the bloodshed and mayhem of the wars between England and France that scarred the fourteenth century. Tom is kidnapped, falls off a palace, down a well and in love - oh, and he makes a total mess of the Pope's dinner. Meanwhile, Ann becomes the only medieval heroine to escape by climbing into a lavatory!
