There was something lacking in this one. The story strayed away from the usual crime and glitzy casino scene into Hollywood offices, which was okay, but just felt very different. I've liked most about this series that these stories could only play out just so with the Santangelos, and this didn't jive in quite the same way. It didn't have to be Lucky. Still a good read, though. Three stars. (

I've been reading the series with a group of friends. This was to repeative in character histories and not enough substance for me. Collins can really weave a story, but this one seemed lacking. Too many characters and not enough development with the older characters. (

Lucky Santangelo is terug. Jackie collins presenteert in Lady Boss een explosief mengsel: haar roemruchte heldin Lucky, donker, sensueel en gevaarlijk, en het zinderende Hollywood.
Lucky wil de vermaarde Panther Studios overnemen. En Lucky is gewend haar zin te krijgen...

Op haar weg naar de macht ontmoet zij tegenstrevers en vijanden, vrienden en verraders. En de verhouding met haar echtgenoot, de bevlogen filmster Lennie Golden, komt zwaar onder druk te staan.

Maar Lucky, alias de Peetdochter, laat zich door niets en niemand weerhouden. Hollywood is van haar: zij is... Lady Boss.
