A quick read and perhaps a good discussion group book. (I'll find out; our Lenten small groups are using it this year.) It's essentially the program of Alcoholics Anonymous rearranged and without the alcohol! ( )

Why are you not happy? Could it be that you are resisting all that God has for you in your life. Matthew Kelly looks at some of those reasons why we resist happiness. ( )

If you're willing to believe that "God is happiness" and "God wants us to be happy," this book might be for you. I wish the author had cited his sources for these claims, as they're sure not in the Bible. If anything, the books of Job and Ecclesiastes offer strong evidence to the contrary, as does the existence of clinical depression (even among faithful Christians). Don't waste your time on this tripe. ( )

Easy to read

Recommended for New Year’s Resolution

Each chapter has some questions at the end to answer, ponder.

Resistance: instant self-gratification,pride, escapism, self sabotage, doubt - causes us to do muchness than what God intended for us.

Read each chapter one at at time and action it over a period of 1 -2 weeks.

Allows you to identify your resistance - give it a name - be more aware of these and why you are doing it.

Worry, comparison, self-doubt, relationships, gossip, laziness, excuses, negative thinking.

God is Happiness; God created us to be happy.

4 Words: Thy Will Be Done

Constantly thinking of this and knowing that He is in you, talking to you all the time and to not worry - trust in Him.
