After completing her time at FTRS Gilly Cobble finds herself missing all her friends and getting bored with attending Jack of All Trade School. Word has started spreading that since becoming headmaster at FTRS, Rumplestiltskin has started dramatically changing how the school is run. Gilly's little sister Anna finds herself sent to FTRS and it's up to Gilly along with her friends to get sent back. Now face to face with the trickster himself the gang faces their biggest challenge yet. Tricked is the 3rd book in the Fairy Tale Reform School series. Gilly is back to being the shoemaker's daughter except now she’s a hero and business is booming. The only problem? Gilly is well, bored and she misses her friends at FTRS making her wonder if it was really that bad after all. It also turns out Anna has been getting into some trouble and with a new headmaster, Rumpelstiltskin she ends up being sent to FTRS sooner than expected. Gilly and her best friend Jax ruin a party to get sent back to FTRS to save Gilly’s sister and see what Mr. Stiltskin has been up to. This is hard if your sister doesn’t want to be saved and your headmaster is the most well known trickster in the land. Gilly must set out on a quest through the hollow woods to get the Golden goose, the price for Rumpelstiltskin to leave the school. I enjoyed this book a lot. It was fun to read about a new villain and interesting to learn about Gilly’s younger sister, Anna. After reading this book you will want to have the 4th book handy because it ends in a semi-cliffhanger. This book exceeded my expectations because I was slightly disappointed after Charmed, the 2nd book in the Fairy Tale Reform School series, and was worried this one wouldn’t be as good. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes fantasy, a witty plot, and a motley crew of fairy tale characters. If you don’t like any of these recommendations or fairy tale spin-offs then this book is not for you. Please note, you shouldn’t read this book if you haven’t read the rest of the series(Flunked and Charmed) first. Tricked by Jen Calonita is the third book in the Fairy Tale Reform School series. Every once in awhile I come across a middle grade series that I enjoy and this is definitely one of them! Tricked is a mix-mash of fairy tale characters. plot twists and turns that will keep you on your toes. Ms. Calonita writes with a good dose of humor yet addresses more subtly the challenges surrounding growing up and coming of age. All in all, this is a delightful book! I received this book for free. A favorable review was not required and all views expressed are my own. Thank you to Sourcebooks Jabberwocky and Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review this book. Times are changing at Fairy Tale Reform School. At least, that's what Gilly's heard. Rumor is that notorious trickster Rumpelstiltskin has taken over management from Headmistress Flora, and he's locked down the school tighter than the Pied Piper's pants. Not that this news concerns Gilly-she's been released from FTRS and is now suffering through attending Jack of All Trades School where she gets to learn about different kinds of shoe leather and ways to measure feet (truly riveting stuff!). But when Gilly's little sister Anna gets whisked off to FTRS (thanks to her troublemaking new friends Hansel and Gretel), Gilly knows she's got to get Anna out of there and that there's only one way to do it: get herself thrown back in.
