Hurray for Ali Baba Bernstein (edició 1989)

Plot Summary: This book has multiple chapters and each chapter is on a different topic. Chapter one is about how Ali Baba changes his name because there were so many other Davids in his classroom and he wanted to feel unique. The chapter was also about how he forgot his library card at home even though his teacher kept reminding him to bring it to school with him. He was too scared to tell his teacher so he broke the rules and left his class without asking. He went home to get his card but he got caught for running off without permission. Chapter two was about how Ali Baba followed his neighbor around because he thought he was acting weird. He kept thinking that his neighbor was up to no good but he later discovers that he was trying to loose weight but he was acting weird because losing weight and eating healthy was hard. Chapter three was about how Ali Baba and his mom go to a new part of New York City. They go to all of these stores that were related to royalty and Ali begins to think that he was going to meet a real king in New York. He then realizes that there is not royalty in America.

Extensions: my favorite idea for this book would be to incorporate it into social studies. Especially the chapter where he is learning about royalty and kings. Also, it can be used in social studies when learning about being model citizens.
