Received as a gift. It includes the War of the Worlds by H. G. Wells. I thought I had rad it before, but was probably remembering the various movies instead. Thus, it was an interesting read. I had to wonder why "aliens are always portrayed as "monsters". Still, these octopus like beings had mastered technology, and advenced weaponry..

I also read The Diamond Lens - that I had not even heard ofbefore. Nice tale abotu simple technology having spectacular results. I had oftenthought about finding some old text thatincludetechnology that had been long forgotten. Great idea for a SF tale. (That I might still write)
