I enjoyed this book more than I thought I would and finished it quickly- but I have to say it was a bit fantastical even for fiction sometimes with how the plot progressed. Also Monty is a terrible person/protag who I cringed at frequently, but Percy and Felicity were keeping my interest. In a way Monty kept my interest just to see how badly he messed things up next. Regardless, it was a fun and quick read that made me want to keep going and see what the rest of the books in the series have to offer. ( ![]() Great fun with all the right ingredients. Pirates, highwayman, spoiled aristocrats, secrets. Addresses some serious issues also, medical conditions, abuse, sexual orientation or lack of, race, classism(sexism). Put all together to make a fun adventure with room for growth. I know, you told me to read this, and I didn't listen to you. Well, ten years later... This was an excellent audiobook to hike to! The trials and tribulations of the trio on the road, at sea, and everywhere else they ended up made me feel much better about my weary feet and the thousands of gnats trying to hop into my eyes. And I've been so picky with my historical fiction recently, but this reminded me of my good ol' BLOODY JACK days where I loved every inch of it. I did not expect to encounter a character with epilepsy, another who steals in order to be as petty and possible, and a third who is passionate about medicine, but believes that same-sex relationships are a sin. This book is solid! I would warn families to read the first few pages to make sure it is appropriate for their child/teen, but the sex scenes tend to be vague and implied moreso than, say, CHoover or SJMaas. So, read on! Annoying protagonist but he gets better. Sense ressenyes | afegeix-hi una ressenya

Henry "Monty" Montague was bred to be a gentleman. His passions for gambling halls, late nights spent with a bottle of spirits, or waking up in the arms of women or men, have earned the disapproval of his father. His quest for pleasures and vices have led to one last hedonistic hurrah as Monty, his best friend and crush Percy, and Monty's sister Felicity begin a Grand Tour of Europe. When a reckless decision turns their trip abroad into a harrowing manhunt, it calls into question everything Monty knows, including his relationship with the boy he adores.
