I liked the story okay, but I found several editorial mistakes that made me question the believability of the whole story line. ( ) Ressenya escrita per a Crítics Matiners de LibraryThing . This was a great combination of fun, easy reading and suspenseful thriller. Kate was relate-able and familiar, making her an easy character to follow on her quest. This is a fast-paced book which contains a lot of detail and action. I was certainly gripped by the plot, there was always something happening and that made it a very satisfying read. Normally I enjoy books which have a lot of character development, I felt this was lacking in this book but that fact was made up for by the high interest level of the plot. If I had one criticism it would be that maybe there was too much detail at times. Clues were here there and everywhere and coming in thick and fast; as well as a sub-plot set several years ago which is also resolved until the end of the book. Having said that though, I'm notoriously bad at picking up on clues in books, so this would probably not be an issue for many other people! Murray Bailey is a promising writer who seems to research his books extremely well meaning they are authentic. I look forward to reading the next in the series. Thank you Mr Bailey for the free copies from Librarything! I received this book as part of the Early Readers Scheme. The book came with the second one, "I Dare You Twice". I think it was great that the author sent me both books because I got to know the background of the story. First of all, I loved the book. It is a fast paced thriller that will keep you guessing and wanting more till the last page of the book. Kate is described as a strong personality and a strong woman that fought till the end to know the truth, which I loved. I like that the story was set in different cities with different cultures and different personalities. The thing I liked the most was that at the end of each chapter, you are left with million of possibilities and explanations, however, you need to keep reading to find out what happened next. I read the book in two days, I loved the story and the characters. However, the thing I did not like was that every time there were different names so I was kind of confused sometimes because I didn't remember who the book was talking about. Overall it is a great book. It's been a long time since I've finished a book in only two days because I was unable to stop reading it. I'm really looking forward to reading the second one. I hope it is as good as the first one!!!! A fast paced thriller. There is some quite sickening violence, although this is mostly hinted at, rather than explicit. I found it difficult to empathise with the lead character, Kate. At times she seemed to act without any thought for the consequences of her actions. The conclusion involved too many overlaying twists, not all of which were well enough explained for my liking. The writing style was at times quite disjointed. Overall a good thriller, but not one of the best. Sense ressenyes | afegeix-hi una ressenya
