I like National Geographic magazines growing up , and I think they are still around today. I like that they explain simple thing’s about mostly science and social science which I think they are really good at. This is more for older kids probably 3rd grade and up. ( ) I would recommend this book to an exceeding second grader in reading because there is a lot of information and content that I think would be missed if they weren't at a high reading level. I think this book included a lot of good information, for example it talked about biomimetics and and nanobot. I like that it included labels in the pictures and "tech talks" to give definitions for the content vocabulary on those pages. The age range for this book is 7-9, but the reading level is an R, which makes me think this may be harder for some second graders to read. The DCI being explored in this book is engineering, technology, and application of science because the book is talking about robots and how and why they are programmed. The CCC's being explored in this book are cause and effect because the book discusses how the robots can only do what the programmers tell them to do, as well as influence of engineering, technology, and science on society and the natural world.
