An interesting assortment of recipes. A good many I'll use - and more I never will; they do love their pepper and vinegar! So many chutneys, salsas, jams, etc with hot or sweet peppers as major ingredients; and entire sections on pickled foods. I drink vinegar-based things, now and then, but vinegar-based foods aren't to my taste, and I detest the taste of peppers (I don't mind the heat, much, but the taste offends me). There are a lot of interesting jams and jellys _without_ peppers, too; discussions of how to can, and what to can in a boiling-water bath and what needs a pressure cooker. Sections on freezing foods, and what to consider there; on canning soups and meals; on drinks, from various flavored hot chocolates to horchata to nut milks; on dehydrating foods, and either eating them as snacks or rehydrating them for cooking with; on making your own sauces, from kimchi to catsup (that's how they spell it). Plus variations on most of them - catsup, and green-tomato catsup, and sriracha catsup...Reading it as an ebook is a little difficult, because I wanted to turn down pages or put in bookmarks on so many recipes. I did bookmark a good many; hopefully I'll be able to find them on another device. I doubt I'll ever read it again, in the sense of going through and reading each section; I'll dip in and out for individual recipes I want to try. ( )
