Normally, I love everything I read by Ms. Aicher, but I just couldn't get into this book. I've been following Finn on his journey from the first book and was looking forward to reading hid HE A. But sadly, I had a tough time keeping enough interest in his relationship. I was so confused during the first third. I thought Chris, Tanner, and Finn were in a relationship together and then I realized they weren't they were just a super close group of friends. I also wasn't getting the whole brother on my left and brother on my right at first. As soon as I understood it, I think I was just too distracted to fully enjoy the story. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. While Tanner s on a mission for the country, his two best friends/brothers, Chis and Finn, are in a deadly and near deadly accident. But he doesn't know anything about it until nine months later. Once he finds out that one of friends, Chris died an that Fin was in a coma is out of it, he comes home. But the truth is, he has to make sure that Finn is alive. Because his feeling for Finn is more than brotherly. But he's not ready to let anyone know, especially Finn. Finn is in a bad place right now. He just lost one of his best friends and the other one is half way around the world defending the country. So he going through a depression and withdrawal. That is until Tanner shows up on his doorsteps, now everything is falling into place. Tanner is only person he want to be around right now. The only person that he will allow near him at this time. But is it for selfish reasons? Now that they are both are together and grieving for the fallen friend/brother that was lost, guards are down. Things are starting to take a different direction that they don't see but see and want but don't want. Which road will they take? I loved this book. I could not put it down once I started reading it. I actually re-read the book again. You find yourself scream at Tanner at times for his stupidity. This is the third book in this series, It's a semi-stand alone book. I haven't read the first books, they give up more information of of what is going on. I can't wait to read the first two books of this series and any after this book. I highly recommend this book to others. I received this book as ARC in exchange for my honest review via NetGalley. Sense ressenyes | afegeix-hi una ressenya

In an explosive novel of long-awaited release from the award-winning author of The Deeper He Hurts, two emotionally exposed Marines learn to lean on each other--and discover the courage to act on their innermost needs. After years away from home, Tanner Dorsey is back and sorting through feelings that have him in a stranglehold. The hardened Marine will do anything for a fallen comrade, so when an accident leaves Finn Kelley fighting for his life, Tanner's eager to be there for him. In fact, Tanner's ready and willing to do anything Finn asks--especially if it means finally acting on the sexual tension that's always kept him craving more. Finn senses it too--when he brushes against Tanner's stubbled jaw, when he inhales the scent of the T-shirt that clings to Tanner's body like a second skin. Now that he's more vulnerable than ever, Finn knows the time is right to take control, even if it means risking the heart and soul of their friendship. The bond they share goes beyond desire; it's a bond of brotherhood, forged under conditions few could imagine. But once they cross that line, there will be no more secrets. No more boundaries. And no turning back. The Farther He Runs is intended for mature audiences and includes an excerpt from another Loveswept title. Praise for The Farther He Runs "[Lynda] Aicher delivers an emotionally nuanced and poignant tale. . . . Aicher's stoic, honorable Marines are exquisitely drawn, flaws and all. Deft plotting helps the author explore the very real struggles of two men in the post-'don't ask, don't tell' military, and a subplot of loss adds a painful but necessary layer to the story. This is an emotion-packed, satisfying read."--Publishers Weekly "The chemistry and connection between the men [are] great from the start. . . . Aicher does a really nice job letting us feel the intense bonds of their friendship and their closeness, while at the same time seeing how their feelings have changed to become more romantic and sexual."--Joyfully Jay "This story is heart-wrenching without being over-the-top. . . . It's sweet; it made me cry and it had me rooting for [Tanner and Finn] as they navigated the rocky path from friends to lovers. Absolutely beautiful."--Alpha Book Club No s'han trobat descripcions de biblioteca. |
