Probably more 3.5 but not enough to round up.
I had mixed feelings about this.
Pros:
HQ and Poison Ivy. Although Harley and her merry crew made Ivy seem sane.
The Artwork. Excellent.
Red Tool. By far my favourite character. Come on. He's a parody of Deadpool, who is already a ripoff of Deathstroke. It's perfect. He needs his own comic!
Cons: The stories get a bit confused and random in places. Maybe this intentional to reflect Harley's mind. It just came across as messy to me.
How is Harley in two places at once? Coney Island in this and locked up with the Suicide Squad in the other comic. ( )

This is more of a collection of shorts than one long arc of stories. The zombie story was cute but felt more like an alt universe instead of going to part of the new cannon. The call center attack was fun and almost everyone dreams of doing it at some point. By the end of the issue Harley get a new villain to spar with that I’m sure we will be seeing more of in the future.

A decent start to this latest reboot in the DC universe. I’ll pick up the next one to see where it is going from here.

I so want to love this volume, but frankly, I struggled with reading it. Am I the only one that a bit sick and tired of Zombie storylines? It's up there with vampires that are also a bit overdone by now. Of course, now and then something good will be produced with vampire/zombie in it, I still like The Originals for instance.

Anyway, this volume (that I read a while back, so far back that I had to check up what it was all about since my memory is not getting better as older I get) start off with an alien getting made into hot dogs and turning people into Zombies. Yes, that's the storyline. I was not that impressed. But, at least it was better than the next story arc...

Harley goes to India. I kind of forgot about that. I mean how bad is it that I had to read a review to remember what it's all about and all I can think of is that it's the part of the volume that really sucked. Utterly boring. On to the next story...

The last part I actually enjoyed reading. Harley goes punk. This was at least fun to read and brought an old villain into the story. Loved Harley's punk style and that she sucked at singing. Ah, if the rest of the volume had been this fun had I liked it a lot more.

So, not a favorite volume of mine, it was OK to read (mostly), but I hope the next one is better!

I want to thank the publisher for providing me with a free copy through Edelweiss for an honest review! ( )

This book is broken into three stories. The first story is about a teenage alien who comes to earth and thinking that cows were the higher species, pretends to be one on a farm where they slaughter cows. He gets slaughtered and turned into meat that goes into hot dogs that get sold to Nate-Mate hot dog stand. When people eat the hot dogs with the alien in it they become flesh-eating zombies. Harley's teammate Toolkit gets bit by one, so Harley slices off his arm. She then catapults him into the local hospital with the arm in a cooler so it can be reattached when she realizes that getting bit by a zombie does not necessarily make you a zombie. The rest of her teammates hold up at the bumper cars and get rescued by Poison Ivey with a weed whacker. They have to find a way out of the bubble that has encased Coney Island. Meanwhile, the parents of the alien are on the lookout for their son and are wondering what on earth could have happened to him.

In the second story, Bolly Quinn from India has roped Harley in on a mission to stop an organization from ripping off grannies of their hard earned money through telemarketing. The third story is about a punk rock group called the Purple Satins who go around dressed as knights and steal from others. Harley is interested in getting them because they killed her favorite postman and stole a package meant for her from Arkham. The Police Commissioner is willing to give her some reward money if she can take care of this problem for him since one of their members is a Senator's son and they keep getting away with it because of this.

Harley gets the idea to form a band of her own and infiltrate them that way. With Tony on guitar, Eggie on drums, and Toolkit with his problem arm on bass they make an awful band, but with Harley's flair for the dramatic they pull it off and get in close with the Purple Satins. Now to figure out what they are up to. To be honest, this comic was a big let down to me. I mean, going after telemarketers and a rogue teenage alien chopped up in a hot dog? The stories were all pretty lame. I didn't even finish the book. I love Harley and her psychotic self, but this was way more ditz than psycho and the author surrounded her with idiots and such a large cast its hard to keep track of everyone. The art, however, is still pretty good, though and worth half a star. I give this book two and a half stars out of five. ( )

Harley Quinn is back, first getting into misadventures when the undead descend upon her beloved Coney Island, all while trying to convince Poison Ivy to move in with her. Next, she's on an uncover mission as a punk rocker alongside Big Tony and Red Tool in order to oust a gang of ne'er-do-wells.

At first, I was a little unsure how this Rebirth title would compare with the previous New 52 run of Harley Quinn comics. I was hopeful, considering that the same creative team was behind it, but still not 100% sure. Turns out, it is exactly on par with the best of the previous run. This book picks up pretty much right where the last one of the previous run ended. There's a quick intro to all the characters for those who might be new, but otherwise the story is in the same vein. This particular title had really compelling plotlines and fantastic comedy. Looking forward to the next one! ( )
