My 8 year old granddaughter brought this book home from the library and has been happily knitting away at the cover teddy bear. I like the way that this book features projects attractive to children yet at the same time simple enough for a child to accomplish with materials found around the home. Not all books are so nicely calibrated. Her mother and I have been suffering for a year with a book, also supposedly for children, in which the most attractive patterns are sewn dolls far beyond the capability of the supposed readers made from fabrics difficult to source. It will take years of experience before she can tackle that. But with the Crafty Art Book, the answer to the plaintive "Mommy can I make this?" is bound to be YES! ( )
