Eh... not bad. A cute little collection of short stories including some of my favorite authors and some I had never read before. The concept was interesting, pairing a male and a female author and intertwining their iconic characters. The only issue that I encountered was the problem of the “short” story. Everything wrapped up too quickly and easily to fit into the short story scheme. Most of the stories left me wanting more, and wondering where they could have gone with a full novel. They all showed potential, but I feel they fell “short”. ( )

OMG - This is a great concept for a book. Male and Female authors were matched up and asked to create a short story featuring their individual characters. Some of the characters were familiar to me from books like Jamie Fraser, Cotton Malone and Temperance Brennan. Others I knew from TV or movies like Jack Reacher and Rambo. No matter when the characters normally operate the authors were able to span locations and time to bring their characters together to solve a crime.
I listened to the audio book and that added a whole other level of interest to each story. The narrators all did a great job of addition to the story.
Before each story, there is a short description of how the authors came together and worked and that is almost as interesting as the stories themselves. If you like thrillers/ crime stories/ murder mysteries you will really enjoy this collection of short stories. ( )
