Arthur: Roman Britain's Last Champion

As the possibility that Arthur was a national fifth century person wanes this book seems more romantic with each decade. If we consider the possibility that the "Arthur" of the title was a conflation of the warlords of the period 470 to 518, especially those of the Anti-Saxon school then the book retains its charm. Worth reading but I'm more ambivalent about the intentional "Arthur" than I used to be. ( )
