I know the story, but it's still fun. Stackpole shows us how the Inner sphere and the Clans are basically a more exciting take on Game of Thrones than what GRRM would later publish in 1996! (

Once again, Stackpole shows he can write Battletech like no other. This is a fantastic start to the trilogy! I loved reading about the "next generation" of all the great houses and how they were living up to their heritage. I had to pick my jaw up off of the floor after reading the epilogue! (
