Fantasy. Fiction. Romance. Historical Fiction. HTML:NOW THE STARZ ORIGINAL SERIES OUTLANDER

In this rich, vibrant tale, Diana Gabaldon continues the story of Claire Randall and Jamie Fraser that began with the now-classic novel Outlander and continued in Dragonfly in Amber. Sweeping us from the battlefields of eighteenth-century Scotland to the exotic West Indies, Diana Gabaldon weaves magic once again in an exhilarating and utterly unforgettable novel.

VOYAGER

Their passionate encounter happened long ago by whatever measurement Claire Randall took. Two decades before, she had traveled back in time and into the arms of a gallant eighteenth-century Scot named Jamie Fraser. Then she returned to her own century to bear his child, believing him dead in the tragic battle of Culloden. Yet his memory has never lessened its hold on her . . . and her body still cries out for him in her dreams.

Then Claire discovers that Jamie survived. Torn between returning to him and staying with their daughter in her own era, Claire must choose her destiny. And as time and space come full circle, she must find the courage to face the passion and the pain awaiting her . . . the deadly intrigues raging in a divided Scotland . . . and the daring voyage into the dark unknown that can reuniteor forever doomher timeless love.

Not as good as earlier ones in the series.

I love how Diana flirts with the lines of the supernatural, douses you in historical fiction, and over and over tucks you up in true loves embrace. I always fear there are dead spots In thick continuations, but there is just so much wonder as I make my way through each book. ( )

So many things happen so quickly in this book that I struggled to follow, but this one was really gripping. Everyone lusts after Jamie, but given Sam Heughan portrays him, I can't really blame them. I was thrilled that Claire and Jamie could reunite, and the bodice ripping in this one is probably the best so far (then again, I'm on Book 3 only).

But just like in Books 1 and 2, Jamie and Claire can't catch a break. Jamie is constantly on the run despite John Grey's "pardon." Then Laoghaire. Then the people who snatch Ian. Then the Englishmen chasing the Artemis. Then Geillis.

I really didn't care for how Gabaldon writes out Frank, but meh, oh, well. And her racist writing about Asains made Claire really sound terrible. ( )
