Re-read this recently (12/22) and having read Card Captor Sakura enough times to not need to re-read the original series to be caught up, I have a yawning pit of dread. Just. An actual stone in my stomach of dread. ( ) New story featuring Cardcaptor Sakura as she enters middle school, with adorable art (as always). After a scary dream, all of the Sakura cards have gone blank (hence the title) and weak, prompting Sakura and company to search out the why of it all. I am thinking that the new developments mirror Sakura's personal growth. At any rate, new Cardcaptor Sakura!! *eARC Netgalley* *I received a free copy of this book from the publisher through NetGalley. This is an honest review.* I am very, very happy that Cardcaptor Sakura is continuing. It’s one of my favorite mangas — the characters are just so sweet and wonderful, so I was thrilled to see volume one of the new series — Clear Card — available as to-read on Netgalley. Sakura is growing up and is starting middle school know. Syaoran has returned from China and will join her! But, it’s not all a perfect paradise; Sakura has started to have dreams about the cards turning clear, and there’s a mysterious figure who seems to be at the center of it. Lots of intrigue, and I’m especially interested to see where this arc goes. The illustrations are lovely, as always, and the story overall is easy to follow. I like that CLAMP doesn’t waste time in getting to the heart of the story. Also, it looks like there are more cards to be captured! This was a solid re-start of the series, as it re-introduces pretty much all the characters, giving the reader a quick refresher as to who’s who and what their relationship is with Sakura and all that. I loved Syaoran’s return seems to be bittersweet, since he’s acting strange with this clear card stuff, so there’s definitely more than meets the eye to all this. If you’re new to the series, I highly recommend reading the Cardcaptor Sakura series first; however, I don’t think you necessarily NEED it to understand the story, but you might appreciate the characters more. I’m super excited to read volume 2! Also posted on Purple People Readers. Sense ressenyes | afegeix-hi una ressenya
