( ) Geared toward lower grades it allows younger kids to use their imaginations to jump into the adventure with their favorite superhero. Written by a children’s book author and illustrated by comic book artists, the concept is brilliant. The dual storytelling of a kid facing her day and the comic panels of superhero defending justice is a wonderful way to relate to kids and their imaginations. The 'Be A Star' checklist is also a great reinforcement for the subtle life lessons contained in the story. Available in both board books and picture books, this series is perfect for kids 3-8. In 'Be A Star Wonder Woman', our young lady is off to school and much like her hero Wonder Woman, she will face many challenges. She will keep the peace and face her greatest fears, but the with the help of friends she can find her courage and win the day. Let's talk about kid's books at I Read Kid's Book Journal After reading Bedtime for Batman I asked for a companion book for little girls who want to be superheroes and here it is. It is time for school and this little girl is ready to be a superhero. I love that dad takes her in the morning and picks her up at night. Throughout the day she uses her superpowers to make it a positive one. Her powers included being prepared, kind, brave, honest and strong. She demonstrates these skills while participating in normal school activities. The story shows Wonder Woman fighting against monsters with a sentence beginning on her page and ending on the page with the little girl solving a problem of working on a situation. The illustrations are large, colourful and detailed. The children are all quite cute, and portray various ethnicities. A really cute book that could become a little girl's favourite. The publisher generously provided me with a copy of this book via Netgalley. This book is about a young girl who heads off to school maybe for the first time. Although she is faced with some obstacles in her path she thinks like a superhero and beats the odds. This book is written in dialogue from a child's perspective as well as a superhero and the two are compared while reading. At the end of the book their is a checklist for kids to check off how they can be a star by being kind, being prepared, being honest, etc. The pages were well drawn and colorful to look at.
