When the other WellieWishers see how much Camille misses her summers by the sea, they want to help, but how can four girls turn a garden into an ocean?"--Publisher. Personal Reaction
I truly enjoyed this book. It read quickly and even as an adult I wanted to know what was going to come next. I am sure this would be captivating to the reader. It is a chapter book but has bright colorful illustrations that aid in deciphering harder text for readers who need some help.
Classroom Extension Ideas
1. In the Classroom, have students create a sea life animal from templates and hang from the ceiling with hooks or paperclips to decorate as an under water scene.
2. In addition to #1, Have stations set up from sand, shells, salt water, and a video station to learn about ocean life.
3. Classroom discussion to begin with who has been to the ocean, closing eyes as a class, and talking about all the things you may hear and smell and then opening eyes to discuss things you may see. ( )
