Apunta't a LibraryThing per saber si aquest llibre et pot agradar. No hi ha cap discussió a Converses sobre aquesta obra. This one starts out with Ivy and Harley on vacation in the Caribbean but doesn’t last for more than in issue. The main meat of the plot in this one is the Joker has come to be with Harley and she is not happy about it in the least. I liked this one a bit better than the previous collection. Harley is a complicated character and her motivations in the ongoing storyline show it. Digital review copy provided by the publisher through NetGalley Harley and Ivy finally get their Bahamas vacation for some rest and relaxation. When they return home, however, things only get more complicated in Harley's love life when the Joker shows up at Coney Island and Red Tool is determined to save Harley from "Mistah J." These was another fun romp into Harley's world. Everything is so far from reality, but it continues to entertain. The only exception was the final short set during Christmas, which got a little too weird. That being said though, I'm looking forward to the next book in the series. Amanda Conner and Jimmy Palmiotti's Harley Quinn, Vol. 2: Joker Loves Harley collects Harley Quinn nos. 8-13. In this storyline, Harley and Ivy work out their relationship, with Ivy saying that she needs to put her goal of saving the world's ecosystem first but will always be there for Harley. From there, the Joker apparently re-enters Harley's life, though things are not what they seem. As Quinn works to make things clear with her apparent ex, the Mayor of New York hires Madison Berkowitz as his new assistant for the story collected in volume 3. The volume closes with a special Christmas story. Conner and Palmiotti bring more pathos to Harley in this volume, though the Deadpool-style humor continues and adds a level of fun amid the emotional scenes about Harley's relationships past and present. Plenty of fun here for Quinn fans. The cover worried me a bit. But when I read the Joker story it did make sense. Although I'm still not sure how I feel about it overall. I'll let the story sit in my brain for a little bit I think. The Joker story took up most of the space int he TPB, but there were a couple of other stories in there too. There was a super wicked crazy story at the end about saving Santa and miniaturizing and such. Definitely a Harley Quinn sort of trip. And then there was my favorite story in the TPB. Harley takes a vacation to the Bahamas and it's both hilarious and very touching too. I get why they don't have more like it, but, I just wish that there were more like it anyway, and less like the Joker story. Still. It was a fun TPB. I got this ARC through Netgalley on behalf of DC Entertainment. Sense ressenyes | afegeix-hi una ressenya
Exploding from the blockbuster DC Universe Rebirth event from the best-selling creative team of Amanda Conner, Jimmy Palmiotti and John Timms comes HARLEY QUINN VOL. 2: JOKER LOVES HARLEY. It ain't easy being the world's most psychotic psychiatrist, but hey, Harley Quinn just might pull it off. With her tight-knit Coney Island crew and her gal-pal Poison Ivy by her side, things are looking up for the mistress of mirth and mayhem. From nudist colonies to roller-derby rinks, she's livin' the good life. But the joke's on her. That's right, folks: the Clown Prince of Crime has come crawling (and killing!) back into Harley's life. This time around, the Joker's promising to show her a kinder, gentler side of himself-the stuff that made her fall for him in the first place, back when she was his shrink and he was her most dangerous patient. Can Harley trust her ex? (Please!) Will she ditch it all to join him in his war on sanity? (Again!) One thing's for sure: if the Joker betrays her again, this time puddin' will go SPLAT! Comics' craziest couple reunites (or do they?) in HARLEY QUINN VOL. 2: JOKER LOVES HARLEY! No s'han trobat descripcions de biblioteca. |

The Bahamas is actually the best part of the volume. One would think that the next story that involves the Joker would be better, but it just wasn't that interesting to read. I just never really found it to be that engrossing, and though it ended with a bang...
Did it feel more like a whimper. It was an Ok story, and definitely better than the last story that involved Santa Claus. Have you seen Innerspace with Dennis Quaid, about a store clerk who is miniaturized and injected into a man? Well, replace the store clerk with Harley and the man with Santa Claus and you get the idea...
The art was OK, not earth-shattering, but I liked it, so at least that. I sure hope the next volume is better!
I want to thank the publisher for providing me with a free copy through Edelweiss for an honest review! ( )
