About That Kiss is a charming and sweet romance that will leave you with a smile on your face and a book that will evoke hoots of laughter and smiles all around...perfect book to get you out of the winter blues

I haven't read Jill Shalvis in a while, I will admit that I didn't get a kick out of book one, so I have been nervous to get back into this series but I can say that I really enjoyed About That Kiss way more than I was expecting too. I really have to be in the mood to enjoy Jill Shalvis and I think I was in the "right" mood for this book. And I am so happy that I really enjoyed this as much as I did. It was a bit different than what I was expecting, but I was pretty happy with out it played out in the end.

Both Joe and Kylie have a love/hate relationship going on. They have a great kiss which is why the title is so aptly named "about that kiss" because honestly they keep going back to that moment. Joe has a few alpha male tendacies, he has never taken it seriously with a woman before so of course he is way out of his element with Kylie. Now Kylie has had her sights set on her boss, but the way that Joe kisses her changes everything even though she knows that Joe doesn't do relationships or long term....EVER!! And boy she feels like she is walking down a path that is so unknown.

What really made this book WOW the reader, is the chemistry that these two have. I do have to say that I LOVED their interchanges and boy these kissing changes are powerful I can tell you that much. Definitely blew me away and yeah I liked Joe's character because his whole take control and kiss the gal against the wall or inside a closet...totally did it for me. And I really got a kick out of seeing them solve a mystery together and develop some true heartfelt feelings for each other along the way. There was an almost "poignant" feel to their relationship and I just adored the way this story developed especially the romance of the story was so "on key" and I have to say Bravo to Jill Shalvis for making this book so special for me. ( )

I've been a fan of Jill Shalvis for several years now. She can always be relied upon for an entertaining, sexy and satisfying read. The way both Joe and Kylie were very honest and upfront with each other almost from the start was refreshing. I enjoyed the mystery of Kylie's missing keepsake - the culprit was not who I halfway expected it to be - I like when the outcome is unpredictable. This book had me laughing out loud in several spots and I love the peripheral characters and look forward to reading their stories too. Whether you're an established Jill Shalvis fan or a new-to-her reader, About That Kiss is a must-read. ( )

Jill Shalvis has done it again. The amazing Cow Hollow fountain has brought more people together than Match.com and Ms Shalvis has brought us along to see all of it. In this case, another of the mighty investigators at Hunter Investigation falls. Joe Malone has seen and known Kylie for a long time but hasn't let himself get involved. He doesn't do relationships and she doesn't do one night stands - until they do.
It all starts when someone kidnaps her small carved penguin. It is her last tie to her dead grandfather who raised her. Joe agrees to investigate the penguin-napping. He tries to be all business but Kylie won't let him do it alone. She insists on being part of the investigation team. The longer they spend time together, the harder it is to deny their feelings.
Ms Shalvis writes entertaining dialogue and the way she writes about the friendships between all the woman is a delight to read. This story just continues to add to the delightful relationships already found in the previous books and the good news is that there are still so many characters who have yet to find their Happily Ever Afters.

From start to finish, I really loved this one! I mean, I know I say that pretty much about EVERY Heartbreaker Bay book that I've read, but can I help it if they are amazing? No, I can't, so I do what I can and shout it from the virtual rooftops. THIS BOOK ROCKED! Kylie was amazing...strong, independent, but with a past that she'd rather forget and memories she'd die to hold on too. It's a tough break what happened, truly awful, but sometimes the truth we tell ourselves isn't really so. Sometimes we need things shaken up, broken apart, made a mess of, to really see what's there...and it definitely doesn't hurt to have a very less-than-unfortunate looking guy by your side for the ride. Which brings us to Joe...

Joe was so much more than just a hot bod alpha...there is actually substance beneath the veneer of masculinity, sarcasm, and flirtatiousness (not that we're complaining about any of that either...*ahem*). He too has lived a life that was harder than you might guess (MUCH harder), but despite the inner demons of unworthiness he faces, he truly is one of the good ones. The situation these two find themselves in forces their hand in more ways than one, but in the end, they find the missing pieces they didn't know they were looking for...and we get one heck of a story!

Kylie hires Joe after a woodcarving her dead grandfather made was stolen. Memories of a stolen kiss heat things up between them. There's some very funny moments, while these two try to investigate who's blackmailing her for the carving, but there's also this niggling sense that I've read something similar to this before. Joe has been closed off for a very long time and they start their relationship with the understanding that i's just a physical thing, up until Kylie learns she deserves and wants more.
