No hi ha cap discussió a Converses sobre aquesta obra. The first half of this book was awful. I wish the author would have chosen to tell the stories side by side and let the reader in on the whole thing. The very gone girl esque twist of the second half didn't redeem the poor quality of the first. ( ![]() A gripping psychological thriller that explores the dangerous lengths one woman will go to in order to obtain the life she wants. The novel's dual narrators offer a glimpse at the motivations of both the protagonist and the woman she is trying to replace. Fast-paced plot, and surprising twists. Read for book club. The first part got annoying - just TOO MUCH. Maybe if this part were trimmed down a bit I would have enjoyed it more. It was a decent change of pace from our previous heavy, heavy reads. Had some twists and was painful at times! So this has been done before. If you've read a domestic or psychological thriller in the last year, you've probably read this book. But that didn't stop it from being really darn good. I have to be honest, I liked it, but it also made me uncomfortable. Amber is 100% insufferable and claims everyone around her is a spoiled brat, but I would say Amber is no better. Her motives are childish and I was glad when part 2 came and I didn't have to endure her whining any longer. Daphne's story showed how we truly can't judge a book by its cover. However, this is where the discomfort comes in. Yes, Amber is terrible, but no one deserves what she got, awful or not. I'm torn because I did enjoy the book for the most part but the way the author creates the "just dessert" feels a bit gross and makes it feel like some things are ok for bad people to experience, which I don't think is true. I guess this book has a true, "the grass isn't always greener", theme that will leave you questioning karma. Sense ressenyes | afegeix-hi una ressenya
