I was really impressed by both the world building but also he main character and how much she grew thought this novel. It was a so well crafted. I loved how the story alternated between the story and also the stories that are considered forbidden in this world. I was shocked by the twists that occurred in this book and really was impressed by them. It was fast pace read and I just loved the dragons roll in this story. I really want to know what happens next! ( ) I really loved this book so much. I was really impressed by both the world building but also he main character and how much she grew thought this novel. I really want to know what happens next! I loved this book! This story was so great. It was like being around a campfire while someone told me the old stories. I love Asha and Torwin and all the characters really. And dragons, I love dragons. You should definitely check this out if you haven’t yet! It’s awesome and I can’t wait for the next book. While The Last Namsara was enjoyable, it definitely isn't one of my favourites or something you MUST read. But since I've read not fantastic YA stuff at the moment this is alright. I loved how the heroine was strong but also scarred, I get annoyed when all-female MC's are jaw-dropping beautiful so it's nice to have something different. Instead of fake swear words, the characters actually swear, unlike in House of Earth and Blood when the word: Alphahole was used (shudders) The characters didn't feel very real and I didn't feel very invested in them. I liked this book - the beginning was super slow for me, the first half of the book actually - but then it picked up quite a lot and got exciting! Sometimes I love books like that, sometimes I hate them, depending on what the pace feels like in the beginning, this one was just plain slow to me. I loved the dragon aspect of this book - it felt very how to train your dragon to me at some parts - which was all exciting and fun. I liked Asha's fierceness and her just.. need and want to be independent - I really think this book had very well rounded heroes/villains - just enough to despise a few and love others - plus the dragons .. who cant love that. Just wish the beginning would have been just as pumped up as the end. Sense ressenyes | afegeix-hi una ressenya

In the beginning, there was the Namsara: the child of sky and spirit, who carried love and laughter wherever he went. But where there is light, there must be darkness -- and so there was also the Iskari. The child of blood and moonlight. The destroyer. The death-bringer. These are the legends that Asha, daughter of the king of Firgaard, has grown up learning in hushed whispers, drawn to the forbidden figures of the past. But it isn't until she becomes the fiercest, most feared dragon slayer in the land that she takes on the role of the next Iskari -- a lonely destiny that leaves her feeling more like a weapon than a girl. Asha conquers each dragon and brings its head to the king, but no kill can free her from the shackles that await at home: her betrothal to the cruel commandant, a man who holds the truth about her nature in his palm. When she's offered the chance to gain her freedom in exchange for the life of the most powerful dragon in Firgaard, she finds that there may be more truth to the ancient stories than she ever could have expected. With the help of a secret friend -- a slave boy from her betrothed's household --Asha must shed the layers of her Iskari bondage and open her heart to love, light, and a truth that has been kept from her.
