Naomi’s Road is Joy Kogawa’s story of being interned as a young Japanese Canadian during WWII. Kogawa’s Vancouver home was taken from them, the family split apart and interned in the interior of British Columbia, all because the government considered them “the enemy.” Naomi’s Road is good introduction to the treatment of Japanese Canadians during WWII for younger students.
