BLUE BLOODED is the 5th title in Emma Jameson’s Lord & Lady Hetheridge Mystery series. This title is a stunner. Very exciting, tense plot with the appearance of the ‘team’s nemesis, Sir Duncan Godington. There is a lot of transitioning taking place - Kate and Tony are married. Tony is transitioning to private life as a consultant/Private Investigator. Kate, Ritchie and Henry (and Tony) are transitioning to a new, albeit temporary home, after a fire. The team is regrouping and Paul is feeling his way to more maturity and good decision-making. Kate’s sister, Maura, is on the scene trying to regain custody of Henry. The threads aren’t confusing, really, just messy. The last few chapters are thrilling. You won’t be disappointed. ***** Kate and Tony are settling into married life, parenting, and caregiving when Tony gets his first case. He is asked to find a young man who disappeared when his twin sister died in a fall from a very tall building. Going undercover in true Sherlockian fashion, he solves the case in an ironic and very apt way. Before they can celebrate, they are taken captive by their old nemesis, Sir Duncan Godington. More bodies fall from high places as the plot thickens and the enemy is dispatched Like this series but not especially this book. Tony is now retired from the London police and setting up a private eye business, Kate is still police and friend Paul is worrying about being demoted from detective. Sir Duncan and his band of young followers are wrecking havoc on London with the object to get the Hetheridges. I found the first half of this book a complicated boring read but then suddenly it turned into an action packed mission impossible scenario. The stuff with Kate, as legal guardian to her brother and nephew was touching. I'll read the next one because I do love the London setting. Sense ressenyes | afegeix-hi una ressenya

Return to the world of Emma Jameson's bestselling Blue series in book #5, BLUE BLOODED.Tony Hetheridge is stepping into a new career-private detective. As a Chief Superintendent for New Scotland Yard, he spent years presiding over the "Toff Squad," handling murders that intersected with the rich and powerful. Now that mantle passes to his wife, Kate, leaving Tony is free to pick and choose his cases. The first: the strange suicide of Mariah Keene and the simultaneous disappearance of her twin, Mark. The twenty-one-year-old twins were Uni dropouts, recreational drug users, and dabblers in the unusual spiritual discipline called sacred geometry. But those risk factors pale compare to their association with the unjustly acquitted triple murderer, Sir Duncan Godington. As Tony goes undercover in the City of Westminster to search for Mark and discover what really happened to Mariah, tempestuous Kate struggles to balance family life with work. She and Tony are determined to adopt nine-year-old Henry; her estranged sister, Maura, is suing to regain full custody. At Scotland Yard's new HQ, her best mate Paul Bhar is being put out to pasture while Kate finds herself up for a long-sought promotion. And her first solo investigation, the high-tech murder of a politician, takes an unexpected turn toward Tony's case-and Sir Duncan. Is it mere coincidence? Or has Sir Duncan's reckoning come at last? If I tried to recap, it would take a full page. But the publisher's blurb is long enough without giving the game away. I loved it! The whole series is great fun escapism complete with laugh-your-sox-off humor!
This series is a whole lot of fun and laughs that make a mockery of reality. Love it!
I really appreciate the talents of voice actor Matthew Lloyd Davies to help me with easy differentiation of characters in the audio, and he always underplays the scenes! ( )
