Fiction. Literature. HTML:Luanne Rice is a rarity among novelists today; she's a true storyteller. Her unique ability to weave together the bonds of love and family with the challenges and rewards of everyday life has garnered her eight consecutive top-ten New York Times bestselling paperbacks. With Beach Girls, Luanne Rice returns to the place that she was born to write aboutâ??the Connecticut shoreâ??to tell a story about a family of women whose lives encompass three generations, their histories intertwined with that of the mystic coastal town that has forever bound them to one another.

This was my first Rice book and by far my favorite! I love the beach and beach reads and this is THEEEEEEE one.
This book took me back to my childhood with a best friend and my teens thru adult life with my 3 other best friends. I could have sworn this book was written by us!
If you like stories of best friends, teen friends, boys and all that summer adventure and trouble we got into, this is a very memorable read. DO NOT waste your time with the TV movie, there is no resembalnce to the book!

Story of a widower and his daughter in the aftermath of a horrible car accident, the story is familiar and predictable, but still good storytelling. Throw in the Connecticut coast, a dilapidated castle, a hermit rumored to be a witch and two celebrated artists and you have yourself a nice summer novel! ( )

A touching story of what happens years after three best friends spend summers at the beach. Emma has died in a tragic automobile accident, with beach friend and sister-in-law Maddie behind the wheel. Emma's grieving husband brings their daughter back to the beach, where she finds the third beach girl, Stevie, working past demons of her own.

Not many surprises, but well written and worth the time. ( )

I was in just the right mood for Beach Girls. I love Luanne Rice, she feels easy to "be" with. Lost myself in this story, an easy, entertaining one. ( )

Beach Girls is a good story about the bonds of friendship. I really enjoyed the characters; especially Nell! I found this book to be a very fast read becuase the story was very predictable. I liked the idea of the story, but I think this book had alot more potential, so I was a little disappointed with it. ( )
